Kate Middleton Told Prince Harry About Her Meghan Markle Concerns

In the new tell-all book Royals at War: The Untold Story of Harry and Meghan's Shocking Split with the House of Windsor, investigative journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett claim Kate Middleton approached Prince Harry with concerns about Meghan Markle when the pair first first started dating. According to Howard and Tillett, Kate "gently reminded him that he was dating someone with a completely different life, past, and career and it would take time, care and attention for them to integrate."

Palace insiders also claim Prince William expressed some of the same concerns as his wife, which Prince Harry did not receive well. One of the book's sources say William asked his brother "is she the right one?" shortly after he met Meghan for the first time. "The rifts that eventually opened up in the Royal family after Meghan arrived could have been avoided if Harry was able to empathize and take his brother’s concerns in the spirit they were intended," Howard and Tillett wrote.

While Howard and Tillett argue that William and Kate acted with good intentions, one source from the book argues that since "Harry feels he couldn’t protect his mother, so he’s going all out to protect his wife. He is so sensitive he often sees criticism or negativity where there isn’t any."

Many of the sources in Royals at War are palace aides who have previously spoken to tabloids about butting heads with Meghan over her work ethic, however, one palace aide praised the Duchess of Sussex for her intelligence. The insider said the rest of the royal family's IQs put together would not equal hers."
