Freddie Gibbs makes a shocking confession in a stand-out track from his new album.

On Friday, November 1, the Gary, Ind. native released his new LP You Only Die 1nce via AWAL Recordings. The 13-track album has a few notable bangers like "It's Your Anniversary," in which he samples Tony! Toni! Toné!'s 1993 hit, and the Three 6 Mafia-inspired "Brick Fees." The album ends with his most buzzworthy track "On The Set." After he namedrops Diddy and pays homage to the late Rich Homie Quan, Gibbs admits that he considered quitting rap after Nipsey Hussle was murdered in 2019.

"I wish they never shot up Pac and Biggie," Freddie raps. "I was gon' retire from rap when I seen that s**t with Nipsey/Crazy when that s**t hit your peers, that s**t be hittin' different."

Fortunately, Freddie Gibbs persisted in the rap game. You Only Die 1nce is the follow-up to his 2022 LP $ouls $old $eperately and his 2020 joint album with The Alchemist Alfredo. He spent the past month dropping hints about the album before he formally announced it last week with the help of Freddy Krueger.

Freddie Gibbs released his new album on the same day as other artists like Lil Uzi Vert, Westside Gunn, IDK and more. You can find his new music plus other fresh hits from Snoop Dogg, Tyler, the Creator, Lloyd Banks, and others on iHeartRadio's Rap Rising playlist.
