Kid Cudi snapped back at Jim Jones after the Harlem native claimed he's the one who elevated his career.

It all started after Jones appeared on the No Rap Cap podcast earlier this month and claimed that people wouldn't know Kid Cudi if he hadn't worked with him in the late 2000s. Jones hopped on the remix to Cudi's breakthrough hit "Day N' Nite" in 2008.

"You would have never known Kid Cudi if I didn't remix the record in New York City," Jones said. "I made that the biggest record in New York City. It wasn't Kid Cudi. Nobody knew who Kid Cudi was."

The record was played on airwaves throughout the tri-state area, but according to Cudi himself, it's not the track that put him on. In a video he posted to social media, Cudder said he's got love for Jim Jones but had to shut down his claims real quick.

"Jimmy, I'm gonna address you directly, my n***a," Cudi said. "You talking about how you're responsible for my success is a lie. You need to stop lying to people. You get on your little podcast and you start gossiping and talking s**t and everybody on your podcast don't know the truth so they all agreeing with you. But if you look under the comments under the post, you'll see people are letting you know what time it is. 'Day N' Nite' was already a hit record before you touched it."

"Day N' Nite" was the lead single from his debut mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi. Cudi originally shared the track on his MySpace page in November 2007 before it was officially released as a single in February 2008. It was also featured on Cudi's debut album, Man On The Moon: The End of Day. The song had already reached underground success by the time it was released commercially, and even sparked an EDM-inspired remix by house producers Crookers.
