Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” single from 1994 is named in a lawsuit for copyright infringement!
Andy Stone, who performs as Vince Vance and is a member of Vince Vance & The Valiants, filed a lawsuit in New Orleans that states that Carey violated copyright infringement and misappropriation. It states Carey’s single exploited the “style” and “popularity” of Stone’s single, which he believes had massive success in 1993.
Stone’s single does not have the same medley or lyrics, but says the titles cause confusion and did not ask him for permission.
