Jay-Z and Roc Nation Partner With The NFL

Jay-Z, Roc Nation and the NFL are officially collaborating.

The New York Times reported that the Roc Nation founder will partner with the NFL to oversee some entertainment options for the league, as well as some of their social justice endeavors. This means that Hov and The Roc will be named the league's “live music entertainment strategist,” overseeing the Super Bowl halftime show.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell made it clear that this does not necessarily mean Hov will be performing in that coveted spot.

NYT also includes that Jay's involvement represents an effort to quiet the long-running controversy over its handling of players kneeling or sitting during the national anthem — most notably involving Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback — and to form a bond with one of its most influential critics.

“The N.F.L. has a great big platform, and it has to be all-inclusive,” Jay-Z said in an interview this week at Roc Nation’s headquarters in Manhattan. “They were willing to do some things, to make some changes, that we can do some good.”

We'll have to stay tuned to see where this leads. A press conference will be held soon and talks on money will be public, so we'll be looking out for that.

Tell us what you think about the collaboration in our comments!
