More Dogs in the Neighborhood is Associated with Less Crime

A Columbus study found that neighborhoods with a lot of dogs have lower rates of homicide and robbery. Walking the dog may increase awareness on the streets and lead to more social interactions and trust between neighbors. This study demonstrates another benefit of having a dog.
